We are looking for an Adolescent Support Worker to support children and young people to remain at home.
This role involves working with children and young people who are open to children’s social care services.
Applicants must have experience working with “Children & Families” and hold at least a Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People.
Our organization, EOC, keeps children and young people at the heart of all our work. We listen, respond, and value our families and communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine direct practice with contributing to service and professional development.
If you are innovative, positive, dedicated, and open to change or challenges, join us to transform the lives of children and young people on the “Edge of Care”.
You should be passionate about working with children, young people, and their families, with a reassuring presence, calmness in crises, and the ability to work with families in their homes to help them make necessary changes to stay together.
We seek team players with a flexible approach, willing to work shifts including evenings and weekends.
We are recruiting two posts: one full-time, permanent position. The Edge of Care service supports young people at risk of entering care to stay with their families, using evidence-based practices to help families make positive changes.
This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; appointment depends on a satisfactory DBS check.
You will provide intensive support to young people aged 8–18 and their families, typically over 6–12 weeks. The work builds on family strengths and introduces coping strategies, combining practical support with strong challenges to address complex needs.
Team members engage with young people and families to de-escalate crises, assess problems, set measurable goals, and help families acquire necessary skills.
Cases may involve family conflict, absence from home, sexual exploitation, educational issues, anti-social behavior, and substance abuse. You will work closely with other agencies and services, directly supporting young people and families in their homes.
You will complete initial assessments, deliver intensive interventions, and respond flexibly to crises.
