Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Contextual Safeguarding Team, supported by Eden Brown Synergy. The role focuses on vulnerable adolescents, contextual safeguarding, edge of care, adolescent mental health and youth homelessness.

You will undertake assessments, work with multi-agency partners, develop safety plans, and maintain case records, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met. A Degree in Social Work and UK registration are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Current Social Work England registration.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking assessments and providing interventions for vulnerable teenagers with safeguarding concerns.
• Working with young people at risk of exploitation, harm and extra-familial abuse.
• Supporting adolescents at risk of entering care through edge-of-care interventions.
• Working with mental health needs and homelessness among adolescents.
• Developing and implementing safety plans to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
• Building relationships with young people, families and carers.
• Collaborating with education, police, health and housing services.
