Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 9am - 5pm (Monday to Friday) and a requirement to working evenings and weekends and some public holidays as per a rota, over 7 days, to provide a flexible and responsive service, including on-call arrangements.

Worker Type: Hybrid Worker

Salary: Starting salary £49,764 (Level One) rising to £52,805 (Level Four) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time)

About the Role

Nottingham City Youth Justice Service are recruiting for a new Adolescence Team Manager. The post holder is responsible for service delivery within the Youth Justice Service, managing the assessment, planning, coordination and delivery of city-wide youth justice, early help and crime prevention services in relation to children, young people and their families.

You will take responsibility for the team’s overall performance, driving service improvement and development to promote a culture of continual improvement in the quality, diversity, and performance management of services by setting SMART targets, ensuring safe practice, robust assessments, management of risk, safeguarding, and effective evidence-based interventions.

You will lead the delivery of high-quality services and provide reflective case supervision and expertise to colleagues to develop excellent evidence-based practice through a robust performance management and quality assurance framework within a multi-disciplinary team including seconded staff from partner agencies.
You will work innovatively and collaboratively with other partners from statutory and community provisions across the city to ensure high standards of public protection and safeguarding to reduce the level of risk and impact of youth offending on children, families and communities.

You will deputise for the Service manager as required and support the Service manager in service planning activities, reviewing the service to ensure effective service delivery, value for public money and potential efficiencies maximised.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Dip SW/CQSW, Dip PS or equivalent level degree in a relevant children service (., education, health, youth work, youth justice)
  • Substantial experience as a supervisor or manager experience in supervisor role or equivalent) in a relevant children service and knowledge and experience of current legislation, issues and good practice in respect of children, young people and families.
  • Experience of implementing best practice in supervision and successfully dealing with poor performance in services and individuals.
  • Experience of motivating and developing others to achieve continual improvement in service performance and delivery.
  • Knowledge, understanding and skilled in key Youth Justice legislation, case management and delivery of interventions to high-risk, complex caseloads.
  • Ability to work effectively with complex partnerships and develop relationships across statutory and third sector partners including to facilitate, influence and support the third sector to deliver high quality services.
  • Sophisticated knowledge and understanding of legislation, policies and practice guidance relating to Youth Justice, Safeguarding and children and familiesand knowledge of diversity issues (including adverse childhood experiences, child development, trauma, neurodiversity, race and ethnicity and gender) and how they impact on delivery of effective services to a range of service users, partners, stakeholders and colleagues

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

- The role requires you to participate in the on call rota.
