Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to work within our higher education client based in Uxbridge.

Job title: Admissions Officer

Duration: 12 weeks (possibility of the role going perm)

Location: 100% campus based - Uxbridge

Pay: £18.57

To provide a proactive, efficient and effective customer-focused service to Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Language Centre applicants to the University, from application through to registration and to make a major contribution to student recruitment at the university. To undertake high level of administrative and analytical activities through point of application to enrolment including assessing for academic and English Language requirements; visa eligibility; fee status assessment; and maintaining the data integrity and accuracy of records. This role would also be responsible for liaising with members of Academic staff on borderline applications and managing the Selection Day processes.

Accountabilities and responsibilities: * The Admissions Office is organised into Undergraduate, Postgraduate, DBS & Scholarships and Systems teams, with the Admissions Officer role sitting within the Undergraduate and Postgraduate teams. Within the UG/PG sub-teams, Admissions Officers are allocated to College teams. From time to time depending on the priorities of work, staff may be allocated work outside of their team, or moved between teams. * This post would be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all College applications are assessed in a timely manner, records are kept up to date and that emails responded to in a professional manner. * Take a key role in annual Confirmation, Clearing and Registration activities through July to September including: implementing confirmation processes to confirm students, make offers through UCAS clearing; handle a very high volume of telephone, email and Live Chat queries in a time critical manner; support the Student Centre in registering students during the university Welcome Week; work a small amount of mandatory overtime (including some weekend working) to ensure all objectives are met; and adhere strictly to the UCAS embargo to ensure Brunel is compliant with UCAS. * This is a very varied role requiring initiative and an independent approach to work. The Admissions Officer is also encouraged to contribute to the strategic development of Admissions and the processes involved to ensure that we provide a competitive service. Decision Making * As a member of a centralised Admissions Office, this post would undertake all admissions tasks required for the processing of student applications ensuring a professional service which is provided which is responsive to the needs of potential students, agents, advisors, parents etc.,

Respond accurately to enquiries face-to-face, by telephone, in writing, by e-mail and through a Live Chat service in a timely and professional manner and providing accurate advice on available programmes of study, entry requirements and admissions policies and processes. * Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across the Student Journey Team. * Liaising with other departments such as Student Finance, Accommodation and the Student Centre on behalf of applicants. * To be aware of the Language Centre's course provision and be able to advise potential students of suitable Pre-Sessional English courses. * Act as key communication link to applicants and agents to provide advice and guidance on entry standards and comparable UK and international qualifications; consult with UKENIC and Student Recruitment Managers to investigate qualifications further. * Provide accurate immigration advice to International applicants requiring a Student Visa ensuring complex cases are referred to the Compliance team. * Prepare accurate Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) numbers for students to use to apply for their Student Visa including working strictly to UKVI regulations and checking evidence to ensure that only genuine students who meet the requirements of the Student Visa are issued with a CAS. * Support the Admissions Manager and Senior Admissions Officers by using eVision reports to determine the priorities in workload and work with College team members to meet goals. * Provide administrative support to all aspects of Registration activities including Language Centre, Undergraduate and Postgraduate activities as required, ensuring documents are checked and scanned correctly and International students meet UKVI requirements for enrolling into a higher education course.

Additional * Effective planning, organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks/projects and conflicting deadlines. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to work under pressure and remain calm at busy times.
