Job description

We currently have exciting opportunities for passionate, dedicated Student Admissions and Guidance Officer.

  • Basis - Permanent
  • Hours - 37 per week, 52 weeks per year
  • Work Pattern - 8.30-5.00 Mon-Thurs & 8.30-4.30 Fridays, plus the occasional evening/weekends.
  • Salary - up to £26,924 per annum

Duties:

  • Assist with the end-to-end admissions process for applications, from first contact to enrolment. You will be the initial point of contact for applicants, supporting prospective students in making their applications.
  • Collaborate with SHCG colleagues to ensure an efficient and fair application process for all applicants.

Skills/Experience:

  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times, being the first point of contact for applicant enquiries, providing essential information, and supporting students in making appropriate choices.
  • Good understanding of adult funding streams.
  • Good understanding of the application process for 16-18, Higher Education, and adult audiences, providing relevant information about the application process and guidance on areas such as travel, finances, and course information.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above (IT is desirable)
  • Level 3/4 Qualification in a relevant field, e.g., Business Admin

Ideal Attributes:

  • The ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and promote a good atmosphere in the department.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, their parents/carers, and other stakeholders.
  • Reliability, honesty, and trustworthiness, demonstrating the highest professional standards.
  • Driving license and/or access to transportation – may require cross-campus working.
