Downe House seeks an outstanding Administrator to join the Admissions Department. This part-time role (22 hours per week, term-time plus 6 weeks) supports the pupil admissions process from initial enquiries to first day.
You will respond to prospective parents, build relationships, manage 16+ entry, and coordinate Parent Events and Assessment Days. The ideal candidate has previous admin experience, excellent IT and organisational skills, and a professional, front-facing approach when meeting
Part-time: 22 hours per week, ideally over 5 days. 40 weeks per year (term-time plus 6 weeks).
Salary: FTE £25,818 and £29,250 (depending on experience). Actual Salary £11,651 - £13,200 plus holiday pay.
Downe House is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18, located in the village of Cold Ash, just outside Newbury in Berkshire. We are seeking an outstanding Administrator to join our Admissions Department. The dedicated team manage the whole pupil admissions process, from handling prospective parent enquiries up to a pupil’s first day at the School. This is a varied role, where you will assist with responding to initial enquiries, building relationships with prospective parents, managing the 16+ entry process, and dealing with the administration for Parents Events and Assessment Days.
The successful candidate will require previous administration experience and possess excellent organisational and IT skills. We are looking for someone who can show a strong commitment to the Downe House ethos, and who will be comfortable working in a professional and “front facing” role, meeting with parents and pupils. Previous experience of working in a school or educational environment is desirable, but not essential.
