Job description

Administrator-Surgical Management Office

The role will be required to provide efficient and effective administrative duties to Musgrove Park Hospital and wider staff

The team member will also provide flexible administrative support to the Surgical management office as required and requested by the Administration Manager to support service requirements

The post requires flexibility and the ability to provide a wide range of administrative duties as the services develop

Main duties of the job

Deal with day-to-day correspondence, initiating appropriate responses to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner

Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary

Liaise with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner

Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested

Qualifications
  • QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
  • Good standard of general education
  • Minimum of 5 CGSEs at grades A-C / Grade 4 or above
  • Must be able to communicate in English Language, both written and verbally appropriate to the post
  • NVQ II in Business Administration or the equivalent experience
Experience
  • Minimum one year of office experience within the last five years
  • Evidence of prioritising workload
  • Evidence of good time management
  • Evidence of ability to work in a team
