Job overview
The Haematology Directorate provides a service across James Cook University Hospital (JCUH) and the Friarage Hospital Northallerton (FHN) with inpatient, outpatient and outreach provision. The Directorate also provides support to North Tees University Hospital (NTUH). The two post-holder will be based in the Outpatient and Day Unit at JCUH providing support for administration to the Department with particular focus on the Haemoglobinopathy Service expansion but also ensuring all data reporting on clinics across the service are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. The post-holder will also be a point of contact for the general public, patients, carers and families as well as colleagues.
The post holder will support the efficient processing of information and communication as required and ensure that clinical correspondence is accurately transcribed, within agreed timescales, in line with Trust Policy.
Main duties of the job
The Administrator role supports the provision of efficient and effective administrative services to the Haematology Directorate, providing high-quality support services and excellent customer care and experience for patients.
This role is often the first point of contact into the service and may involve a range of tasks including providing a reception service, meeting and greeting visitors and undertaking a range of administrative services dealing with post and parcels, replenishing/ordering stock, data recording and inputting, referral management, booking appointments, signposting appropriately etc.
The post holder will be a team player and will actively contribute to continuous service improvement activities, including the maintenance and improvement of quality to ensure that services are delivered with customer focus.
