Job summary

Sodexo at HMP Bronzefield in Ashford is seeking a finance administrator to support day-to-day finance operations within a highly secure environment. You will handle core activities such as accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook), and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Strong administrative experience in a finance function.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification or finance-related degree.
  • Experience in a regulated or custodial environment.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support across the finance function

  • Work collaboratively across departments to support the smooth running of the prison
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within strict deadlines

About the Role & HMP Bronzefield

HMP & YOI Bronzefield is the largest female prison in the UK and Europe, operating within a highly secure, regulated environment. The site supports a diverse population, including women on remand, varying sentence lengths, young offenders, foreign nationals, and mothers with babies, with a strong focus on rehabilitation and wellbeing.

This role sits within the Finance function, supporting the Head of Business Management in delivering an efficient, compliant, and high-performing financial operation across the prison. It requires a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who can operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth running of financial processes that underpin critical services across the site.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the overall performance and governance of the establishment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support across the finance function

The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong administrative experience within a finance function
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification or finance-related degree
  • Previous experience in a finance or administrative role
  • Experience working in a regulated or custodial environment
