The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a variety of administrative duties within a role aligned to their skills and experience. Placements may be available across University Hospital Southampton, Princess Anne Hospital or Royal South Hants Hospital. The responsibilities of these roles include, but are not limited to, the following:
Outpatient Administrator Centre - The Outpatient Administrator Centre is at the hub of outpatient administration within the Trust. It is a busy, interesting and often diverse department where we provide support to the clinical outpatient services and excellent customer service to patients.
Receptionist - You will be the face of the Trust and responsible meeting and greeting our patients and their relatives in a friendly and knowledgeable manner. You may also be responsible for registering of patients on to the hospital computer systems and ensuring all patients personal matters / records are dealt with in a confidential manner.
Ward Administrator – You will be working on a ward(s) providing administrative support such as managing patient notes, relieving clinical staff of general administrative duties, answering the phone and meeting and greeting patients and relatives
Booking Administrator – the role will provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives/carers and to external agencies andyou will build good working relationship with the Consultants, the rest of the administrative team and nursing staff.
Emergency Care Administrator – within the Emergency Care Unit here at University Hospital Southampton. The department is in operation 24/7 - 365 days and the role entails working days, evenings, weekends, nights and bank holidays all allocated on a pro rata basis.

You will:
The hospital offers a 24 hour service, however for these roles you could be scheduled onto shifts between the hours of 7am and 10pm Monday to Sunday so will require good flexibility around your working hours.
If you are looking for part time employment, please note we would need you to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
There are roles across the Trust, including in care groups such as Women and Newborn, Neurosciences and more. Please indicate in your application if there is an area that you would be particularly interested in.
