Job summary

NHS is seeking an Administrator to join the Children's Community Nursing Service. You will provide high-quality administrative support across multiple clinics, coordinating appointments, handling enquiries, and maintaining patient records.

Key responsibilities include ordering stock of medical consumables, coordinating delivery, and ensuring data quality and timely patient pathways. A strong background in admin and confidentiality is required.

Qualifications

  • GCSE passes and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience are essential.
  • Experience of working in an administrative environment and in the public sector is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer software packages such as RiO, Epic, Office 365 and Teams.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection Act and safeguarding patient information.

Responsibilities

  • Book and coordinate appointments, including interpreters, and manage waiting times.
  • Respond to telephone and email enquiries from families and professionals with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support clinic administration and data entry.
  • Support ordering, stock control, and distribution of medical consumables and equipment for staff and patients.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised and motivated Administrator to join our busy and dynamic Children's Community Nursing Service. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated administrative team that provides vital support to Children's Community Nursing services across the borough. The administrative team plays a key role in ensuring children, young people and their families receive timely and coordinated care by managing appointments, clinic administration, correspondence, and the ordering and delivery of essential medical consumables and equipment that support children with complex health needs in the community. As an Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality administrative support across multiple services and clinic locations. Your duties will include coordinating appointments, responding to telephone and email enquiries from families and professionals, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting the smooth running of clinics. You will also support the ordering, stock control, tracking and distribution of medical consumables and medical equipment used by both staff and patients, ensuring children with complex healthcare needs have access to the supplies required to remain safe and well at home. This is a varied and rewarding role that is essential to the effective operation of the service and the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.   • To be responsible for the ordering, stock control, and monitoring of medical consumables using NHS procurement systems, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained; to track and coordinate the delivery of consumables to staff and patients, maintain accurate inventories of medical devices used within the service and in patients' homes, and liaise with the Trust's Electronic and Biomedical Engineering (EBME) team regarding the servicing, maintenance, repair, replacement, and decommissioning of medical equipment.
