The University of Cambridge Language Centre is seeking to recruit a full time Administrative Receptionist. Reporting to the Language Centre Administrator and under the day-to-day supervision of the two Resources and Learner Support Coordinators, the successful candidate will join a dynamic and dedicated team who work to underpin the Centre's teaching, learner-support and operational activities.
Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be central to the smooth running of the Centre's operations by providing an efficient and friendly user-facing and administrative support service.
Educated to at least GCSE-level or equivalent, the ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, be well organised in prioritising their work, be flexible in their approach and have excellent communication and IT skills along with a strong sense of team playing and working flexibly across a varied workload.
The University of Cambridge Language Centre is an institution within the School of Arts and Humanities, but provides language learning opportunities for all members of the University, both students and staff, through a combination of taught courses in some 18 languages, guided self-study, as well as a programme of academic development and training for international students. The Language Centre houses an open access learning centre (the John Trim Centre) open to all, and develops and publishes its own online learning resources. The Language Centre is the sole occupant of a building in central Cambridge, sitting separately from other institutions within the School, but it also works closely with other departments and faculties across the whole University.
