Our Admin Officers play a critical role, providing excellent administrative support and customer service to court users, judiciary, and management.
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) oversees criminal, civil, and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. We support court users and colleagues within HMCTS, facilitating access to justice. We seek individuals committed to public service and making a difference. Crown Court Admin Officers manage criminal digital files, handle correspondence, and respond to enquiries. They deal with criminal justice agencies, solicitors, barristers, and the public via various channels. They work with serious criminal cases and juror management. You will perform administrative duties to support case progression and other HMCTS functions.
With a friendly, approachable manner, you should have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a desire to provide proactive support via phone and email. You should be organized, able to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to software tools. Enjoy working in a busy environment and assisting court users navigate the justice system. This role is customer-facing, office-based, with standard hours of 37 per week. Flexible working options are considered, including part-time (minimum 30 hours over 5 days). Employees must seek line manager approval for fixed-term appointments, loans, or visa considerations. The salary is £24,202 plus contributions to a Civil Service Pension Scheme.
