Job Description

Based at William Wallace House, Orchardbank Business Park, Orchard Loan, Forfar, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

Requirements
  1. You will have a good general education with 4 Ordinary or Standard Grade passes, including English and Mathematics or Arithmetic, or an equivalent qualification.
  2. Preferably, you will have a Certificate or Diploma in Electoral Administration, or an equivalent qualification, or relevant experience.
  3. Additionally, you may have experience and knowledge of Electoral Registration procedures and legislation, as well as legislation and procedures related to the maintenance of the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List.
Responsibilities

You will supervise a team of clerical staff within the Divisional office and provide training as required. In general, you will ensure that all clerical amendments to the Electoral Register, Valuation Roll, and Council Tax Valuation List are processed promptly.

The Individual
  1. Experience in the use of computer applications for input and retrieval of information is essential.
  2. Effective communication skills and telephone manner, good numeracy and literacy skills, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
  3. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, handle enquiries from the public, and manage a varied workload.
  4. You should be capable of accepting responsibility, making decisions, and working under deadlines.
  5. This position requires a Basic Disclosure; a satisfactory response from Disclosure Scotland is necessary.
