Salary Range
$65,500.00 - $123,550.00
Overview The Administrative Supervisor serves as the strategic administrative partner to department leadership, focusing on the Yale Cancer Center (YCC) Clinical Trials Office (CTO). Reporting to the YCC CTO Executive Director, as the leader of administrative support services for the YCC CTO with responsibility for management and oversight of administration staff, this position identifies, mobilizes, and ensures that the department’s faculty and staff receive high quality administrative support in a manner compliant with University policies and procedures. Working in concert with the executive and senior management teams, the Administrative Supervisor conceptualizes, plans and directs effective and innovative procedures and protocols for administrative, clinical research care, finance and research professionals, with the objective of advancing the missions of the Yale Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office by directing, planning, and managing the comprehensive business affairs of the department, including program development, information systems, staff administration, staff training and development, facilities management, office space planning and regulatory compliance. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to be a dedicated and self-motivated employee with a positive "can do" attitude that supports the mission of the school. Prior supervisory experience required. Ability to represent the Director and Yale Cancer Center well in working collegially with peers and colleagues within and outside the University. 2. Demonstrated possession of sound independent judgement, intuition and common sense with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize and handle many tasks simultaneously in a complex, fast paced environment. 3. Superior interpersonal skills and ability to interact with faculty, staff, students and administrators at all levels with a highly professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills. Ability to deal with complex issues and sensitive situations that require confidentiality and discretion. 4. Highly developed oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively deal with individuals both inside and outside the organization from diverse backgrounds. 5. Highly adaptable, demonstrates creativity, innovation, flexibility and willingness to accept challenges. Demonstrates willingness to adapt to change based on specific needs and requirements. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills Experience in senior level academic administration or comparable executive setting. Bachelors degree and 3-5 yrs of experience in progressively responsible management situations of administrative, leadership and/or supervisory capacity or equivalent combination of experience/education. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Zoom and Internet search engines.
