Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide general administrative and communications support to the Health Economics Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) Director and wider team. Lead on the organisation of continuing professional development courses for HEHTA and support the overall communications strategy. Support research and teaching for HEHTA and liaise with the wider School of Health and Wellbeing on HEHTA activities and communications, and a range of operational and management activities, particularly related to, digital communications, marketing teaching, finance and operational needs.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide high level of administrative support to the Director and wider HEHTA management team in support of effective planning and management of activities and resources, specifically development and implementation of all HEHTA communications, policies and procedures relating to good governance and management, in particular GDPR.
  • Managing all social media platforms for HEHTA including creating original content and working with MVLS design and others in HEHTA to design content for communicating their research outputs. Communicate with various professional bodies on designing HEHTA marketing strategies.
  • Work independently to prepare and publish quarterly newsletters, annual report and all digital communications, including the HEHTA website.
  • Provide support to HEHTA’s Evidence Synthesis Group as directed by project manager. Update and maintain webpages and social media content for all HEHTA projects.
  • Work with HEHTA project managers and research staff to design content and develop materials for Knowledge Exchange and Public Engagement activities both internal and external. E.g. Explorathon, Pint of Science.
  • Contribute where appropriate to broader pieces of work across SHW, such as the Athena Swan activities
  • Co-ordinate and provide high-level administrative support for all meetings and events within HEHTA, including taking minutes, collating and distributing meeting documents to team, following up on actions/agenda items and liaising with HEHTA researchers to maintain live projects/grant applications and publications information
  • Plan and organise events/away days. Assist team with conference travel and maintaining accurate record of expenditure for all team activities
  • Triage Post Graduate Research enquiries
  • Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by suggesting service improvements and implementing new processes to enhance quality of service
  • Provide any other reasonable support as required by Line Manager and the Director of HEHTA.

Knowledge/Qualifications

Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework Level 7 [Advanced Higher / Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3, Higher National Certificate] or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role

A2 Knowledge of marketing and communications strategies and experience working with websites and social media platforms.

A3 Knowledge of the University’s various systems, in particular Agresso, MyCampus, t4, CMIS, OneDrive

Skills

C1 Excellent planning, organisation and negotiation skills Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with students, staff and external organisations

Essential

E1 Experience of working in a higher educational environment and knowledge of higher education policies and procedures is desirable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs/applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneDrive is essential. Knowledge of other University software packages [Agresso, Adobe is desirable.

E2 Proven experience of clerking formal meetings, including the setting of agendas and the taking of minutes

E3 Experience of administration in Higher Education establishment, including comprehensive knowledge of administrative and organisational systems.

E4 Experience in working with people from different countries and cultures

Terms and Conditions

Salary will be Grade 5, £26,338 - £30,805 per annum.

This post is full time and open ended with funding available for up to 12 months from the start date.
