An exciting opportunity exists for an Administrative Assistant to join a regional museum service in North East England. The role involves supporting various venues, requiring strong organizational and communication skills. Flexibility and proficiency in MS Office 365 are essential. North East Museums is a regional museum, art gallery and archives service. We manage twelve museums and galleries across North East England and the Archives for Tyne and Wear.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this award-winning service; we are seeking to recruit an Administrative Assistant to join our team to support our 4 fantastic venues across both North and South Tyneside. The venues the role will support are Segedunum Roman Fort and Stephenson Steam Railway in North Tyneside and South Shields Museum & Art Gallery and Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields. Arbeia and Stephenson Steam Railway are open to the public on a seasonal basis so support required at these sites can vary across the year.
You should have a willingness to learn new skills and have demonstrable experience of working in busy office environments. Good oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to deal with people at all levels in the organisation. You should be computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office 365 software packages, especially SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and Outlook.
As the role will require you to support a range of different locations excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills are needed, as is flexibility. The role would require you to work at different sites regularly in line with our agile working policy to meet business needs.
