Are you highly organised, confident with Microsoft Office, and passionate about supporting community programs? The Shire of Derby/West Kimberley is seeking a proactive and motivated Community Development Administration Officer to join our dynamic Community Planning Administration team.

About the Role

As a key member of the Community Planning team, you'll provide administrative support across multiple services, including Youth, Library and Heritage, Rangers, Events, and broader Community Development programs. This is a fast-paced, rewarding role where your ability to multitask, use initiative, and work independently and as part of a team will be highly valued.

  • Provide broad administrative support, including diary management, travel bookings, correspondence, and document preparation.
  • Coordinate facility hire bookings, ensuring smooth scheduling and communication with stakeholders.
  • Assist with the creation of posters, letters, presentations, and reports to promote community programs and initiatives.
  • Support procurement processes (quotes, purchase orders, requisitions).
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with updates to corporate documents and templates.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community members.
  • Support event coordination and contribute to the success of community development projects.
  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with Council policies, WHS standards, and relevant legislation.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and be a team player.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High-level proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail with a customer-first mindset.
