Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) are an independent constabulary reporting to the Secretary of State. Their primary role is armed policing of defence and other critical national infrastructure including nuclear sites. With civilian support staff they are nearly 2,500 strong. MDP HQ is in RAF Wyton, with key sites across the UK.

The Professional Standards Department (PSD) is directly responsible for the management of Public Complaints and Misconduct Allegations made against serving members of MDP.

The MDP Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) is a small vital hub that supports the functions within the Professional Standards Department with responsibilities for ensuring the integrity of MDP Officers and support of the professional standards department by conducting proactive enquiries and investigations to maintain confidence and to support the organisation and the wider MOD

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and direct incoming emails for the group user mailbox.
  • Accurate data inputting to ensure the integrity of the ACU intelligence system.
  • Collate, submit and review Officers outside business interests ensuring key performance indicators are met.
  • Assist the ACU senior management in relation to the Notifiable association process.
  • Daily checks of the force’s intelligence system providing results to Disclosure and baring security.
  • Ownership of the ACU sharepoint page to ensure the most to date information is available.
  • Assist the analyst in preparing weekly, yearly and quarterly reports which feed into the National picture
  • Comply with data retention review and procedures.
  • Support Police staff within the ACU to ensure they are provided relevant, timely information to complete their taskings.
  • Ensure all mandatory training is undertaken in the time frame specified.

  • Good/high level of experience working with Microsoft 365 apps.

  • Potential to consider Police national computer training and other Police system training as the role develops.

  • A driving licence would be advantageous due to remote training locations.

  • A Civil Service pension with an employer contribution of 28.97% Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
