Overview

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for an Administrative Officer to work on Longview, Assessment and Treatment Ward, Hopewood Park Hospital, Sunderland, SR2 0NB.

Longview is an 18-bedded acute admission ward for women over 18 years of age, who require assessment and treatment in hospital. Inpatients is a very busy service, and the role is to support the multi-disciplinary clinical team to ensure that our service users receive high quality care from admission, during treatment and up to their discharge from the wards.

Responsibilities
  • Support the multi-disciplinary clinical team by coordinating administration for ward activities and meetings.
  • Update the patient information system during meetings and type in real time to record accurate information.
  • Coordinate admin actions following meetings, including arranging further patient-related meetings within very limited timescales.
  • Carry out general office duties such as ordering, petty cash, filing and scanning to ensure a comprehensive, high-quality administrative service.
  • Communicate with service users face to face and via telephone with internal and external sources; provide cover for administration colleagues not based on the same ward during periods of absence.
  • Participate in relevant training courses appropriate to the role and handle exposure to highly distressing or emotional circumstances as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of working with Microsoft packages and electronic record systems.
  • Proven experience of complex diary management.
  • Advanced typing skills.
  • Excellent customer care and communication skills.
  • A good working knowledge of office procedures.
  • You should hold the required level of qualifications outlined in the Essential Criteria of the Personal Specification in the job description.
Employment Details

These posts are full-time: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, and are office-based.
