Contract length: Permanent

The environment:Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London, and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 835 boys study at Harrow and live in the Schools 12 boarding houses. The Harrow Association (HA), the Schools alumni organisation, was established in 1907. Its membership primarily comprises former pupils of Harrow School, known as Old Harrovians (OHs), but includes Masters who have served 15+ years, plus some other friends and associates of the School. There are approximately 9,500 HA members worldwide.
The HAs purpose is to enhance the lives of all Harrovians, past and present. Day to day, it helps them to fulfil their ambitions and to support Harrow by maintaining lifelong connections with each other and with the School. Its activities focus on three core areas: Community, Careers and Employability, and Heritage.
The role:The Harrow Association Officer will assist the Harrow Association Director in fostering strong relationships both amongst OHs and between OHs and the School. As part of this, the HA Officers primary role is to help organise and deliver the rich and varied programme of HA events, including reunion dinners and regional gatherings in the UK and abroad, career networking events, unique Harrow Songs evenings at the School and, every five years, at The Royal Albert Hall. Furthermore, The HA Officer is primary liaison with the 30 or so OH Clubs and Societies with focusses covering sporting, social and professional activities.For more information please review the job description attached as a separate document to the advertisement on the School vacancies page.
The skills:This role will suit an accomplished administrator with established events organisation experience, a keen eye for detail and a warm and outgoing personality. You will enjoy connecting people and building community relationships using traditional and social media methods. Using your excellent written and verbal communication skills that reflect the Harrow brand, you will pride yourself on being able to juggle multiple priorities calmly and with minimum supervision. You will relish the opportunity to use your innovation and ideas to strive for improved ways of working.as part of the life of our vibrant School.
