Job summary

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Administration Lead for Cardiology to support the smooth running of a busy service. You will lead and support administrative staff, coordinate key activities with clinical and operational leaders, and drive efficient service delivery.

You will focus on recruitment, workforce management, governance, and continuous improvement, monitoring workloads, patient waiting lists, and mapping administrative processes to deliver

Join Cardiology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital as our Administration Lead and play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth running of a busy, forward-thinking service. As part of our supportive and collaborative administrative team, you will work closely with clinical and operational leaders, helping to coordinate key departmental activities, lead on administrative processes, support recruitment and workforce management, and drive service improvements. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that enhance efficiency, patient experience, and service delivery.
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, confident managing competing priorities, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork are essential.
The Administration Lead will be responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day running of the Cardiology administrative service, ensuring high standards of patient-focused administration and operational support are maintained across the department. Working closely with the Administration Manager, the post holder will oversee administrative processes, support workforce management and recruitment activities, coordinate departmental meetings, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
The role involves supervising and supporting administrative staff, monitoring workloads, maintaining patient waiting lists and tracking systems, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, and acting as a key point of contact for administrative issues. The post holder will use digital systems to improve efficiency, monitor actions and support the delivery of a high-quality service that meets performance targets and governance requirements.

Examples Of Decisions The Post Holder Will Make Include

  • Prioritising and reallocating administrative resources to maintain service delivery during staff absence, vacancies or periods of increased demand.
  • Reviewing patient pathway and waiting list information to identify risks and determine appropriate actions to support performance targets and patient access requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes, implementing digital solutions and monitoring actions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
