Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and bright individual who enjoys patient contact and working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in delivering high-quality service. You will work collaboratively to provide excellent secretarial and administrative support within the Uro-Neurology department at the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Queen Square.

This role involves actively engaging with patients during check-in for appointments, requiring great attention to detail and the ability to multitask. You will ensure a smooth and efficient service for both the multidisciplinary team and patients, aiming to deliver high-quality administration, a positive patient experience, and excellent customer service.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will use the new EHRS system (Epic) to collate clinic information, book and reschedule appointments, retrieve information from various hospital systems, and handle queries from patients, other departments, and external sources.

Good organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to work autonomously are key attributes. The successful candidate must promote and contribute to achieving the Trust’s top ten objectives and demonstrate our Trust values, behaviors, and standards.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, a high degree of empathy, diplomacy, and integrity. Sensitivity, professionalism, and awareness of customer service needs are required. Additionally, you should have strong organizational skills and administrative experience, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and NHS IT systems.

As a team member, you will uphold high personal and professional standards and support colleagues to deliver high-quality services.
