Job description

Our Third Party Administration (TPA) department is a dynamic team with a diverse client portfolio, providing market-leading services on Defined Benefits (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), and CARE pension arrangements.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join this department as an Administration Consultant within our Data Journey team, based in Birmingham, Edinburgh, or Glasgow.

What will your role look like?

Your responsibilities will include managing projects to meet regulatory requirements and client needs, overseeing a team of analysts, and ensuring effective workflow management. You will be involved in end-to-end project management, including data and benefit audits, GMPE reconciliation, rectification, implementation, and risk transfer projects.

Key tasks include:

  • Leading the team to deliver daily workloads aligned with project priorities.
  • Managing schedules, prioritising tasks, and ensuring team capacity.
  • Meeting Service Level Agreements for clients.
  • Acting as the principal contact for team members and clients regarding technical issues and non-standard cases.
  • Representing the team in project consultancy matters during Trustee meetings.
  • Continuously improving workflows and practices.
  • Ensuring quality and accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Maintaining chargeability targets and preparing monthly fee invoices.
  • Providing expert pensions administration advice to clients.
  • Overseeing the Reviewer process according to best practices.
  • Traveling between Hymans’ UK offices as needed.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in pensions operations and workflow management.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to DB and DC pensions.
  • Experience leading multiple projects with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Pension Administration Systems.
  • Good understanding of governance principles.
  • Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to present complex findings clearly to trustees and non-technical audiences.

Ideally, candidates will hold a professional qualification such as Associate Membership of the Pension Management Institute or be working towards it. Industry experience in the UK pensions market is also valued.
