Administration co-ordinator/Seaman (Marine)

ESL operates a fleet of six pilot launches, serving the ports of London and Sheerness.

The Company is seeking a Ramsgate office-based Administration Co-ordinator/Seaman (Training for seaman part of the role will be given), working both day and night shifts, initially on an eleven month fixed-term contract basis, with a view to the role becoming a permanent position.

The role is primarily office based, however the ideal candidate will be able to carry out seaman’s duties when required, to cover team shortages.
Tasks include telephone communications, radio communications and electronic record- keeping, plus acting as a deckhand on a pilot boat (when trained to the appropriate level of competency).

The successful applicant will be adaptable, willing to learn, articulate, computer-literate, have good telephone communications skills and hold five GCSEs (including English Language and Mathematics). Possession of a full U.K. driving licence and a marine VHF radio licence would be an advantage; marine qualifications are desirable.

The Salary £25,737 raising to £28,403 once qualified as Seaman per annum pro-rata, plus overtime where available, Group Personal Pension Plan pension scheme, uniform, and 28 days’ rostered annual holiday.
