Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, full time position.

The shift pattern for this position is 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday.

As an Administration Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the clinical service by supervising administrative systems, processes, and staff training across the Radiology Department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing administrative and secretarial staff to maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Implementing robust training programs and conducting regular assessments.
  • Overseeing patient appointment scheduling, waiting list management, and ensuring compliance with National Imaging waiting time guarantees.
  • Managing staff rotas, annual leave approvals, and absence monitoring.
  • Reviewing and improving administrative systems and procedures to meet service demands.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for resolving administrative issues.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Essential:

  • Educated to HNC/NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the health service.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in IT systems (e.g., CRIS, PAS, Microsoft Office) and advanced typing skills.
  • Knowledge of Imaging procedures and regulations
