Job description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative capacity
  • Previous experience working in a child-focused environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under your own initiative
  • Experience of handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills, with experience of using other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with IT systems for email/diary management/record-keeping etc.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise and organise work to meet competing deadlines.

Duties:

  • Providing administrative support for the Nursery setting.
  • Responsibility for answering all telephone enquires that come through to reception in a timely and professional manner and passing them onto the relevant team.
  • Supporting the rooms by covering ratios during busy lunch periods as required to cover for lunch breaks.
  • Assisting the Heads with other office duties as requested.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and following all GDPR processes of the Nursery.
  • Organising the Nursery diary ensuring that Heads are aware of their daily appointments.
  • Taking minutes in Heads’ meetings as necessary.
  • Maintaining a well-organised and tidy office
  • Maintaining staff and child records using the nursery’s management information system as and when necessary
  • Dealing with enquiries from parents, prospective families, and outside organisations
  • Understanding and implement the Nursery's Policies and Procedures
  • Following the Nursery's commitment to Safeguarding, including undertaking relevant training and upholding nursery policy
