We have an excellent opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join our Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health team within the directorate of Adult Mental Health.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We may also accommodate some remote working, although the posts are predominantly based on-site at this time.

As an Administrative Assistant for Perinatal Services, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to a specific area of the mental health team, including supporting a clinical team.

Your responsibilities will include meeting and greeting patients face-to-face and answering calls in a timely manner.

This role is diverse, working in a busy and fast-paced environment within a team that values and supports each other.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties and Responsibilities)

As an Administration Assistant/Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for telephone inquiries and face-to-face interactions with patients and referrers. You will work proactively as part of the wider administrative and clinical teams, including other services within the Mental Health directorate and Medical Staff.

Your duties include processing referrals, data input, supporting the team as needed, and other general administrative tasks. You should have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent IT skills, and be highly organized with good planning abilities.

The role involves communication with patients, service users, family members/carers, GPs, and external NHS services or partner agencies like Social Care and the Police, requiring good written and verbal communication skills and a calm, compassionate manner.
