Job description

Due to continued company growth, Vigilant Security are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Administrator to join our busy Admin Department in Dumfries.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to enhance their career and join a fast-growing company. The post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis upon completion of your 6-month probationary period. Hours of work are Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00), with a degree of flexibility where deadlines are required to be met.


This position boasts a competitive salary with a holiday entitlement of 28 days, inclusive of bank holidays.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support and assistance to the Administration Manager and Deputy Administration Manager.
  2. Basic understanding of Microsoft office applications.
  3. Updating and maintaining in-house vetting systems and databases.
  4. Completing security screening to required deadlines in accordance with BS 7858.
  5. Conducting ECS and DBS checks.
  6. Creating and distributing ID Badges to staff.
  7. Threat and intelligence support.
  8. Consult with outside companies, candidates and contracts managers.
  9. Updating company documentation.
  10. Dealing with HR related matters.
  11. Compliance with industry requirements.
  12. Taking minutes of meetings.

Candidate requirements:

  1. An enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop within the role and contribute towards the greater success of the team and business.
  2. Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining a positive working atmosphere.
  3. Administration skills.
  4. Knowledge of British Standards.
  5. Excellent IT, communication, and organisational skills.
  6. A proactive individual who can work on their own initiative independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
