Wessex Water Services is hiring an Administration Assistant to support the Developer Services team in Bath with data entry, records management and customer communication. The role combines office-based tasks with home-working on a hybrid basis, initially in-office for six months for training.

After training, expect three days in the office and two days at home. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract, offering opportunities to grow within a diverse water services group.

Are you a motivated and highly organised individual who excels at working efficiently? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Developer Services team as an Administration Assistant.

If you have interpersonal skills and are self-sufficient, organised, a multi-tasker, love inputting data into spreadsheets and have experience uploading documents into databases/systems, then we want to hear from you.

The role offers a hybrid of office and home working. Initially, we would look to have you in the office permanently for a six-month period, so we can provide training and support.

Once you are self-sufficient, your role will see you working in the office three days a week and at home for the other two days.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

What you'll do

The Developer Services team is responsible for reviewing new development proposals and protecting Wessex Water's supply and sewerage network. We pride ourselves on delivering a professional, high-quality service to our customers.

Day-to-day, you will deliver excellent customer service and provide helpful advice by phone, letter and email, as well as acknowledging all new applications and correspondence, ensuring you maintain accurate and full records via our in-house systems.

You will also be responsible for processing new applications and recording incoming payments, the production of confined spaces permits for our approved contractors and scheduling CCTV and visitor appointments.

What you'll need

We are looking for someone who can deliver great customer service, have a positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn new skills and the confidence to make decisions using logical and informed judgement.

We are looking for a confident communicator and enjoy finding solutions to customer challenges. You will be dealing with a wide range of queries, so the ability to absorb lots of information and relay that knowledge is important.

You'll need to be highly organised and able to prioritise your workload to ensure you deliver an excellent service to all stakeholders.

Ideally, you'll hold a grade C or above in English and maths, although this is not essential. You'll be IT literate and have a good understanding of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
