Job description

Job Title: Band 2 Administration and Call Handler Clerk

Location: Royal Stoke site, University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust

An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Administration and Call Handler Clerk. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinic Administration team and Appointments Call Centre team to ensure outpatient clinics are fully utilized and patients are allocated appointments within NHS national targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake clerical duties, including providing and receiving routine information tactfully and persuasively.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients, reception staff, and external/internal bodies regarding appointments and queries.
  3. Handle enquiries with potential barriers to understanding.
  4. Manage appointment queries, conveying factual information to patients, relatives (with consent), and healthcare professionals.
  5. Handle general internal and external calls, including patient and relative enquiries.
  6. Develop knowledge of outpatient specialties to enhance patient experience and facilitate effective communication.
  7. Coordinate with system administrators to update on slot issues and patient queries.
  8. Ensure full utilization of available capacity.
  9. Follow instructions from the Clinic administrator to deliver efficient booking services.
  10. Organize and adjust workload and clinic appointments as needed.
