William & Mary and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Marketing courses. The pool supports undergraduate and graduate offerings, with responsibilities including syllabus design, course coordination, student feedback, and timely grading.

Qualifications

  • Ability to incorporate technology in education processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review course content, activities, assignments and assessments prior to the term start date.
  • Prepare a syllabus (with guidance from the Area Head and/or Lead instructor).
  • Coordinate course activities with the Area Head and/or lead instructor, and the Associate Dean for the program as necessary.
  • Promote academic integrity.
  • Support student learning using W&M’s learning management system.
  • Support documented student accommodations.
  • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines and adhere to the academic credit hour policies & guidelines.
  • Maintain frequent and open communication with Area Head, other faculty and staff through email, mail, telephone, and any other medium deemed appropriate.
  • Provide students with timely and specific feedback.
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner (48 – 72 hours).
  • Offer weekly office hours for individual or group consultation.
  • Submit final grades according to William & Money policy and the individual program calendars.
  • Submit end-of-semester feedback and reflection form.
  • Complete all required training and orientation activities prior to the term start date.

Job Description Summary:

The Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Money is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty to teach one or more undergraduate/graduate courses in Marketing.
William & Money is a premier liberal arts university, chartered in 1693, and has long been considered one of the “Public Ivies.” The graduate business school has been recognized as a “Top-50” school by Business Week, the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. The University is situated in historic Williamsburg, Virginia and is within an hour’s drive of Richmond, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. Washington DC is within three hour’s drive. Adjunct faculty serve a vital role and are valued members of the Raymond A. Mason School of Business and the William & Money community. Under the guidance of the Area Head, adjunct faculty members teach courses, facilitate course activities/assessments and provide students with timely feedback, while promoting W&M values. Adjunct faculty are provided with professional learning opportunities and are invited to attend on-campus events.
