Job Summary and Qualifications

Part-time Arts & Science Faculty are responsible for facilitating learning and learner development; using assessment and evaluation strategies; participating in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; evaluating program outcomes; developing and functioning as a leader and change agent; and working within the educational environment, in accordance with rules and regulations of the state and federal regulatory and accrediting bodies.

What you will do in this role:

  • Create an environment that facilitates students’ learning and achievement of desired student learning and program outcomes.
  • Implement a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs, desired learner outcomes, content, and context.
  • Use teaching strategies based on educational theory and evidence-based practice.
  • Utilize information technologies to support the teaching-learning process.
  • Provide resources to students that help meet their individual learning needs.
  • Help students develop as professionals and integrate the values and behaviors expected of healthcare providers.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Use various strategies to assess and evaluate student learning across all settings and domains.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding course performance and progress.
  • Contribute to the improvement of teaching strategies and evaluation methods.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Candidates can have education and/or experience in courses related to the interdisciplinary field of human ecology, covering topics like cultural ecology, climate change, environmental policy, food systems, population dynamics, and sustainable development. Knowledge can be drawn from sociology, anthropology, biology, geography, and public health.
  • Education: Master’s degree in the relevant subject area or a Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area.

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Physical demands are minimal and considered sedentary, involving occasional lifting of items up to 10 pounds. Use of standard office equipment is frequent. Clinical area demands may include lifting, pulling, pushing, and other activities related to patient care. Regular attendance is required, with possible evening or weekend hours and travel to clinical sites and classrooms.
