Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

We're expanding our team and are looking for Adjudicators to work with us in The Deposit Protection Service at Computershare. We welcome applications from Law graduates, Solicitors, Barristers, professionals in dispute resolution, or any other legal roles. You'll be responsible for safeguarding tenancy deposits and resolving disputes regarding deposit disposition at the end of tenancies.

A role you will love

You'll adhere to strict deadlines when producing adjudication decisions. You'll also collaborate with teams within the department, contributing to continuous improvement and project-related activities associated with your role. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Handling adjudications for disputes referred to DPS/LPS Scotland adjudicators
  2. Resolving disputes between landlords and tenants and drafting adjudication judgements for The Deposit Protection Service/LPS Scotland
  3. Liaising with Dispute Resolution Case Handlers and other key individuals within DPS/LPS Scotland
  4. Assisting the Head of Dispute Resolution, Lead Adjudicator, and Senior Adjudicators with various tasks as requested

Salary

The salary for this position can reach up to £42,000, depending on your experience.

What will you bring to the role?

You'll examine large volumes of complex information to pinpoint key issues and make clear, concise determinations. High-level decision-making and investigative skills are essential for adjudication. You'll need excellent attention to detail and the ability to work alone. These positions also require outstanding communication skills, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to meet deadlines. Other key skills required for the role include:

  • Recognised law qualification (LLB, LPC, CILEX), or extensive experience in the lettings industry and qualified to degree level
  • A working knowledge of Housing Law and dispute resolution is desirable
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work on your own
