The role

The role of a SEND Teaching Assistant involves working with children with a variety of Special Educational Needs such as Autistic Spectrum conditions. This role requires a highly motivated, adaptable, committed, enthusiastic, and resilient classroom support assistant with great communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting the teacher and pupils. You will have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs. You will work as part of a dedicated and committed team that have a child-centred approach in all they do.

What you will bring to the role:
  1. Experience of working with children and young people with SEND in a UK-based school environment.
  2. Qualifications in relevant areas of SEND training/TA training.
  3. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs, ensuring their educational needs are met.
  4. Assist in the implementation of Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and adapt teaching materials to meet the students' needs.
  5. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  6. A creative outlook to learning - no two children are the same, and our practice should reflect this!
  7. Ability to travel between schools in Cambridgeshire is desirable, but not essential.
