The Clinical Lead will act as a central point for all ADHD clinical activity within our service, working closely with the operational and senior leadership team to ensure delivery of a safe, highly effective, and high-quality pathway for patients seeking ADHD assessment and treatment.
The post holder will be an experienced clinician and leader with extensive experience in ADHD, possessing the ability to provide supervision and oversight to the wider ADHD clinical team.
The role will be a mix of clinical leadership and patient-based activity. As such, the post holder will work 0.2 WTE in a leadership capacity, with up to 0.8 WTE of the post being spent undertaking ADHD assessments and/or treatment.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead, you will:
- Lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary team of Specialist ADHD Practitioners
- Lead weekly MDT meetings and ensure robust clinical governance
- Provide expert supervision, support, and training to clinicians
- Collaborate with partners across health, care, education, and voluntary sectors
- Identify service gaps and champion improvements that reduce health inequalities
- Influence service design through data-driven decision making
- Play a key role in delivering innovative, community-focused ADHD care

ROLE SUMMARY

MAIN DUTIES
- The Clinical Lead will provide clinical oversight and leadership to the wider ADHD team by:
- Supporting the development of the Leeds GP Confederation ADHD service
- Providing clinical leadership and oversight to a multi-disciplinary team of Specialist ADHD Practitioners
- Leading weekly internal multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Working with various agencies and stakeholders, including community-based professionals working with people with ADHD or suspected ADHD
- Providing staff training
- Offering consultation, support, and advice on ADHD assessment and treatment
- Ensuring the wider ADHD team adheres to local and national guidelines
- Ensuring robust clinical governance arrangements are in place, including leading clinical audits of the service
- Identifying and escalating risks appropriately
- Monitoring key performance indicators with the operational team
- Identifying service gaps to inform future service development
- Developing multi-agency collaborations to improve health outcomes and address inequalities
- Collecting and analyzing data to monitor activity and outcomes
- Participating in team meetings, practice development, and peer supervision
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient records
- Adhering to safety policies and procedures
- Working with colleagues to continually improve service quality within governance frameworks
- Clinically, undertaking ADHD assessments and/or prescribing medication as appropriate

Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in ADHD and/or mental health services
- Autonomous assessment and management of ADHD
- Registration with a relevant professional body (GMC, NMC, HCPC, GPC)
- Experience liaising with senior leaders and managing complex healthcare environments
- Experience working with multiple health and care organizations to deliver integrated pathways
- Project management skills
- Ability to prepare and deliver reports
- Experience with healthcare innovation and change management
- Strong communication skills
- Experience supporting contractual delivery and reducing health inequalities
- People management experience, including line management
- Data analysis skills for decision-making
