Job summary

RK Accountancy and Finance Professionals seeks a Legal Finance Systems Business Analyst (Aderant) for a 6-month FTC in Central London with hybrid working. You will optimise the Aderant Expert platform, drive system enhancements, integrations and reporting solutions alongside operational support.

The role blends project delivery, system configuration, SQL reporting, UAT, and month-end processes, requiring strong stakeholder engagement across Finance, IT and legal operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in legal finance technology environments.
• Experience with Aderant Expert (or Aderant Sierra).
• Understanding of legal billing, timekeeping and month-end processes.
• Experience with SQL and reporting/analytics tools for data validation and dashboards.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across Finance, IT and operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical business analysis, system configuration, and testing for core finance initiatives (including billing workflows, regional integrations, and reporting enhancements)
• Translate operational Finance and Billing requirements into functional and technical specifications, translating them directly into Aderant system/workflow setups and partnering with external software vendors
• Write direct SQL queries (SSMS) and manage embedded reporting for data validation, billing workflows, and month-end financial reconciliations
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support for the firm’s finance systems, assisting with month-end queries, system maintenance, and user troubleshooting
• Define test scripts, oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and ensure financial data integrity across key system interfaces
