Job summary

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician to join the Additive Manufacturing team. You will support end-to-end additive manufacturing activities from receiving requests to production, post-processing and final delivery.

You'll work with metal and polymer AM systems, maintain quality and safety standards, and collaborate with engineers, project managers and QA teams to ensure successful project delivery across high-value sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience operating metal and/or polymer additive manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing process control and quality assurance.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and progress work requests through the production lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
• Operate and maintain a range of additive manufacturing equipment, including technologies such as DMLS, MJF, FDM and MBJ.
• Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure products meet specification and customer requirements.
• Carry out post-processing activities, including support removal and surface finishing.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety procedures, risk assessments and PPE requirements.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers and quality teams to support successful project delivery.
• Maintain accurate production records, machine logs and quality documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and process development activities.
