Job summary

Alloyed, based near Oxford, seeks an Additive Manufacturing Operator for its Abingdon facility to produce and process high‑performance metal parts. You’ll work with engineers and technicians, ensuring tasks align with schedules and are executed efficiently.

Training is provided where needed, with early shifts (6am–2:30pm) to support production goals. The role emphasizes hands-on involvement, precision, and safety in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, contributing to continuous capability

  • Operating metal additive manufacturing equipment.
  • Operating post-processing machinery, such as heat treatment equipment and wire-EDMs.
  • Communicating with production management and engineers to understand their needs, scheduling and performing work accordingly.
  • Participating in the development and improvement of the company’s in-house capabilities.
  • Maintaining good health and safety practices.

Role Overview

Alloyed is seeking a motivated individual to join its energetic, growing team as an Additive Manufacturing Operator, where your main responsibility will be to produce and process a variety of high-performance metal parts.

You will work closely with engineers and technicians, ensuring that the work is carried out according to schedule and that technical challenges are quickly tackled.

You will be based at our Abingdon facility. Training will be provided where required.

Normal working hours 6am - 2.30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Operating metal additive manufacturing equipment.
  • Operating post-processing machinery, such as heat treatment equipment and wire-EDMs.
  • Communicating with production management and engineers to understand their needs, scheduling and performing work accordingly.
  • Participating in the development and improvement of the company’s in-house capabilities.

Essential Skills
  • Hands-on attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Organised and able to work independently, but also to collaborate with a diverse, fast-moving team.
  • Experience working in a precision engineering environment.
  • High level of attention to detail.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with metal additive manufacturing (ideally Renishaw or EOS machines).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed.
