Senploy in Camborne is seeking an Additional Needs Education Support Worker to assist children and young people who may find mainstream learning challenging, helping them access education and develop the skills and confidence they need beyond it.
You will build positive relationships, provide individual and small‑group support, help pupils engage with learning activities, support emotional regulation and positive behaviour, and adapt your approach to different communication and learning needs.
You don't have to come from a traditional classroom background to make a difference in specialist education.
Experience in care, youth work, residential services, mental health, SEND or support work can give you many of the skills young people need from the adults around them: patience, resilience, consistency and the ability to build trust.
We're looking for an Additional Needs Education Support Worker to join a specialist setting in Camborne as soon as possible.
You'll support children and young people who may find mainstream learning difficult, helping them access education while developing the skills and confidence they need beyond it.
Young people may have needs including:
Some pupils may need significant encouragement to engage with learning, while others may require support with communication, behaviour, routines or social interaction.
You’ll:
We’re interested in people who understand that behaviour often communicates a need.
You’ll need to be calm when situations become challenging, able to maintain appropriate boundaries and genuinely motivated to help young people progress.
Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals is highly desirable.
You must also hold a driving licence and have access to your own vehicle, as driving is essential for this opportunity.
An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
This is a full‑time, term‑time opportunity offering valuable experience within SEND and specialist education.
If you’re currently working in support and wondering whether your skills could transfer into education, this could be exactly the move you’re looking for.
