ALN Primary Teacher Newport Area
Hours: 08 30 Start Date: September 2025 (Trial days available before the summer break)

Are you committed to supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? A cluster of progressive and inclusive primary schools in the Newport area is looking to welcome a dedicated ALN Primary Teacher from September 2025.

These schools are well-regarded for their inclusive values and strong leadership, offering a nurturing and supportive environment where every pupil is given the opportunity to succeed. The role includes both full-time and flexible part-time positions to suit your schedule.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in ALN provision who is looking to make a lasting difference in pupils' lives. Trial days before the summer holidays are available to help you settle into the setting and meet the teams.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in primary education

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH and PMLD

  • A clear understanding of how to plan and deliver individualised learning programmes

  • Confidence in adapting teaching approaches to meet a wide range of needs

  • Strong behaviour management skills, underpinned by a calm and compassionate attitude

  • Willingness to work closely with support staff, families, and external agencies
