Briggs Group in the United Kingdom seeks an Ad Hoc Terminal Operator to securely handle hazardous bulk products, monitor critical site systems, and support safe, efficient terminal operations. You will operate pumps and drainage systems, supervise contractors, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Monitor tank levels, temperatures, pressures and product quality.
• Respond to Safety Critical System Alarms and take action to prevent incidents.
• Operate drainage systems, interceptors and outfalls and follow water-release procedures.
• Safely use plant and equipment and adhere to operating procedures.
• Sample products on receipt and delivery; test samples as required.
• Operate terminal pumping systems for imports, exports, transfers and line stripping.
• Load Road Tankers; check and clean line and pump filters as required.
• Book in visiting hauliers and supervise contractors under Permit to Work.
• Report hazards, near misses, incidents or safety-related items and defects.
• Carry out forklift activities including moving palletised cargo and loading/unloading HGVs.

The Role

Looking for a hands-on role where safety, teamwork, and responsibility come first? As an Ad Hoc Terminal Operator, you'll play a vital role in the safe handling, storage, and distribution of hazardous bulk products, helping to keep terminal operations running smoothly and efficiently. From operating critical equipment and monitoring site systems to supporting emergency response activities, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a safety-focused, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitortank levels, temperatures, pressures, and product quality
• Respondingto Safety Critical System Alarms and taking appropriate action to prevent an incident
• Correctoperation of all Terminal Drainage Systems, Interceptors and Outfalls and adhering to procedures regarding the release of water from such systems. The safe use of plant and equipment and adhering to procedures for their use.
• Safe useof plant and equipment and adhering to procedures for their use
• Samplingproduct before receipt, in storage and on delivery. Testing product samples as required
• Operation ofTerminal Pumping Systems for all product imports, exports, vehicle returns, transfers and line stripping
• Operation ofall Road Vehicle loading equipment being able to assist with loading of Road Tankers as required. Check and clean Line Filters and Pump Filters as required.
• Bookingin of visiting Hauliers
• Supervisionand control of contractors utilising Permit to Work controls
• Reportinghazards, near misses, incidents, or any other safety related item as well as defects in material/plant
• Carrying outForklift Truck activities i.e. moving palletised cargo and/or other items on site, as well as loading/unloading HGV’s of cargo and/or other items
