Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking flexible and experienced Residential Support Staff to provide essential agency cover across multiple children’s homes in London. You will deliver high-quality, nurturing care to vulnerable children and young people on an “as and when” basis, supporting their emotional and physical well-being.

Role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience in residential settings and an Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience in children's residential homes.
• Experience supporting young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties.
• Experience managing complex situations and responding to crisis appropriately.
• Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic living environment for children and young people in residential care.
• Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and educational or recreational activities.
• Follow and implement individual care plans and risk assessments accurately.
• Manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively using appropriate de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and comprehensive handover notes.
• Strictly adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of the children at all times.
