Job description

The Acute Therapies Lead (Occupational Therapy) is a key leadership role within the team responsible for assessment, rehabilitation, and supporting flow within the acute trust. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence service development and improvement for a motivated team. The Acute Therapy services are undergoing significant transformation, and we seek an exceptional individual to promote clinical excellence and help develop a modern, exemplary service.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the occupational therapy workforce focused on managing complex patients within the GWH bed base and beyond, ensuring efficient and effective delivery that promotes optimal patient recovery, supports operational flow, and maintains a safe site.
  2. Collaborate to support the development of services within the Trust and across wider health and social care networks, fostering an integrated system approach where learning and improvements are shared.
  3. Provide specialist clinical input at an advanced level, demonstrating considerable knowledge and skills within the specialty, and offering leadership to the teams within their portfolio.
  4. Lead the ongoing improvement of the Acute Therapies Service to align with the Trust's strategic direction, ensuring high-quality, efficient service delivery.
  5. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Acute Inpatient Occupational Therapy Services, including referral management, rehabilitation assessments, and treatments to support patient flow, discharge, and progression in partnership with patients and their families.
