Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Consultant Paediatrician for Furness General Hospital in Barrow-in-Furness. The post supports 10 clinical sessions per week with flexible annual review, and opportunities for areas of special interest.

You will join a growing team delivering high-quality paediatric care for Children and Young People across the Morecambe Bay footprint, with on-call commitments and a focus on education, safeguarding and clinical

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise and Specialist Register or within six months of interview (CCT/Portfolio)
• Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (or equivalent)
• Completed Specialist Training (or equivalent)
• APLS/NLS (or equivalent) and level 3 Child Protection Training
• Experience in acute and non-acute paediatric problems including medical, surgical, child protection, resuscitation and neonatal care
• Proven experience in clinical audit
• Experience of clinical supervision of juniors and relevant staff
• Active involvement in delivery of Medical Education and multi-professional training
• Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with patients, families and colleagues
• Evidence of attendance at CPD meetings and training

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care for Children and Young People across the Morecambe Bay footprint
• Deliver consultant paediatric services with on-call arrangements (1:7)
• Contribute to undergraduate education and safeguarding initiatives
• Support leadership and management responsibilities within the department
• Promote inclusive practice and professional development
