Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in London seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patients admitted for Orthopaedic procedures. The role combines elective and trauma work across King George Hospital in Ilford and Queen's Hospital in Romford.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute healthcare desirable.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled routine and non-routine clinical and non-clinical support to the Occupational Therapy team and associated staff.
• Accept patients allocated by the Occupational Therapist, assess and treat per protocols, monitor progression and adjust interventions as needed.
• Work independently with supervision as required and maintain close communication with the OT team to facilitate patient care.
• Organise and participate in induction and in-service training for the Occupational Therapy Assistant and team.
• Carry out duties deemed necessary by Clinical Lead/Clinical Specialist to ensure adequate provision of service.
