Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust seeks a highly skilled nurse to support the Acute Oncology Service. You will provide early input on specialist nursing assessment and clinical management for unscheduled oncology emergencies, including chemotherapy-related complications, cancer-related issues, and unknown primary concerns.

The role involves triage, collaboration with oncology teams, and contributing to the development of acute oncology pathways within the Trust and wider health community.

Qualifications

• Significant oncology experience and capability in nursing care.
• Excellent communication with patients, relatives and MDT colleagues.
• Knowledge of local and national cancer standards and guidelines.
• Experience nursing acutely unwell cancer patients.

Responsibilities

• To triage and make clinical decisions using specialist knowledge.
• Act as nurse specialist for MSCC patients and provide evidence-based advice.
• Share information to promote patient health and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to audits.
