You would be based at Leighton Hospital working across acute wards and Mid Cheshire community footprint providing clinical intervention, education and training on the acute stroke ward and following up the patient to their own homes, nursing homes or via virtual contacts. This post offers the opportunity for a dietitian to further develop their clinical skills in enteral feeding and nutritional support whilst maintaining core therapeutic dietetic knowledge.

Main duties of the job

To formulate, deliver and monitor nutritional care plans for referred patients. This would include highly complex clinical conditions and diet therapy, across the acute stroke unit and community stroke rehabilitation settings.

To be recognised as an expert source of nutritional knowledge in the field of stroke care, contributing to development of clinical guidelines, resources and education packages.

The department encourages innovation and supports continuous professional development. We have embraced paperless working in the community and are moving forward with a digital clinical system project for acute services. We are supported with enhanced IT facilities.
