Acute Adult Dietitian (Band 5) based at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated dietitian just starting their career who has excellent communication skills and a passion for patient-centred care.

As the successful candidate, you will be based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital providing a dietetic service across the range of acute adult inpatients and general outpatients, working closely with your MDT colleagues including consultants and specialist nurses.

This role will provide you with excellent and supported professional and personal development. As part of the team, you will have opportunities to be involved with the training of dietetic students, other dietitians, and healthcare professions. There are also opportunities to get involved with audit, research, and service development.

You would be joining a team of over 20 committed and welcoming dietitians, who work in a range of specialist areas at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Reading is the largest town in the UK with great shopping, nightlife, restaurants, and London is less than half an hour by train.

We are a forward-thinking department that has a strong focus on a patient-centred service. We encourage service development and have an established quality improvement programme driving the service forward.

Full-time (37.5 hours) hours are available for this role.

You will be based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, working closely with consultants and ward staff to assess and advise patients. Our service uses a range of consultation settings to support our patients at all stages along their treatment pathway. Some of the areas of work include:

  • Being part of the MDT in assessing nutritional status
  • Advising and supporting patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Supporting the training of dietetic students
  • Implementing Quality Improvement programme to lead service development
