This role involves a variety of activities spanning the full systems engineering life cycle, where high integrity solutions are increasingly demanded by our customers. The position requires regular liaison with a broad range of engineering disciplines and internal project customers in the UK and Europe, influencing systems design decisions and delivering value outcomes.

You will be well-versed in systems thinking and engineering, thriving in an environment of uncertainty and change, with the following key responsibilities:

  1. Applying systems engineering processes, methods, and tools to develop complex products, ideally in the defence/aerospace industry or working on high integrity systems.
  2. Managing engineering tasks and work packages to deliver value outcomes, including coordination of other engineering disciplines and subject matter experts.
  3. Managing stakeholders, including project customers (UK & European), engineering domain specialists, and experts.
  4. Handling technical complexity and influencing project outcomes for successful and realistic technical inputs across various projects.
  5. Managing a systems engineering team to develop individual skills and capabilities for the System Design Function and to drive outcomes for the Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence.

We offer flexible working arrangements, enhanced parental leave (up to 26 weeks for maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave, with enhancements for paternity, neonatal leave, and fertility treatments), and fantastic site facilities including subsidised meals and free parking.

MBDA is a leading defence organisation committed to supporting armed forces and partnering with governments to defend our nations. We promote diversity and inclusion through employee-led networks and encourage all applicants to speak with us about any support or adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
